The Use of Drones For Sorghum Scientific Research

Yield trends under varying environmental conditions for sorghum and wheat across Australia

Technical officer Ken Laws, has been using drones mounted with infrared cameras to help map sorghum grain crops at the Hermitage Research Facility in Warwick, to monitor their growth.

Data collected from images taken by the drones are categorised and further analised in phenotyping for breeding and research.
